What it is
What is Apple Pay in Apple Messages for Business?
An Apple Pay request is an interactive message with line items, a total, and currency. The customer taps it, Apple shows the familiar payment sheet, and they authorize on their device.
Apple sends the encrypted payment token to Blooio, and Blooio relays it to your webhook. Only you or your payment processor can decrypt and settle it.

What it is not
Not Apple Cash
Sending money to friends in iMessage is Apple Cash. This is a business taking card payment through Apple Pay.
Not a payment processor
Funds settle through your own processor. Blooio brokers the Apple session and never sees card numbers.
Not a card form in chat
Never ask customers to type card details in the conversation. Use Apple Pay.
Not zero setup
You need an Apple Pay Merchant ID and certificates, linked to your Apple Messages for Business account.
Experience Review
Apple's rules for this feature
- Link your Merchant ID to your Apple Messages for Business account in Apple Business Register.
- Introduce the payment with a short text bubble that states what is being paid for.
- Treat payment webhooks as at-least-once, and settle on payment.request_id.
- Never request card numbers in the conversation.
Apple checks these during the Experience Review and after launch. Every rule for every feature is in the Experience Review checklist.
